On Sunday I turned 34 years old. I was able to celebrate in MD with my family, hang out with my friends in NY and finally spend a mellow relaxing birthday weekend in Mendocino, just JAS and I. We got up at the crack of dawn on Saturday and made our way north to Anderson Valley. Toured and tasted at Navarro Winery and Anderson Valley Brewery in the late Indian Summer sun. Late afternoon we made our way north to Mendocino. It was socked in with fog like I had never seen in all my time visiting. Luckily JAS wasn’t too bummed (since it was his first visit) and we made the most of both days! We stayed at Jug Handle Creek Farm in Caspar which was the perfect setting in the fog and cold for wood burning fires and snuggling. A stop at my favorite store Ananse Village where JAS gifted me Mexican Wedding banks that I adore!! A delicious dinner at Mendo Bistro, an amazing french toast breakfast hand made by my love, a walk along the dunes, a 2 hour hike to the Pygmy Forest, and a final dinner of crab mozzarella pizza. I am grateful most of all in my life these days and this birthday was another moment I felt true gratitude.
